    STUART MINES FROM NORTH AND SOUTH DEVON CONVICTED OF RAPE IN DEVON AND CORNWALL

    A police officer from Devon and Cornwall has been convicted of raping a woman he met through a dating website, in a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community. PC Stuart Mines, aged 49, was off duty at the time of the assault, which occurred at his residence in South Devon during October 2022.

    Despite his claims of innocence, Mines denied the allegations of rape, asserting that no sexual intercourse had taken place and that any intimacy that occurred was consensual. However, after a thorough investigation by the police, a jury at Exeter Crown Court found him guilty on Friday. Mines was subsequently remanded in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced on the 19th of March.
