MARINE PILOT AND PORNOGRAPHY ADDICT CAUGHT WITH INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
An individual identified as Stuart Fox, a 40-year-old marine pilot residing in Brough, was found with a collection of indecent images of children, including some of girls aged between nine and 12.Fox admitted to making these images and subsequently instructed a specialist therapist to address his sexual issues.
During proceedings at Hull Crown Court, it was revealed that Fox had joined an online group where he exchanged messages with an undercover police officer.
In these conversations on August 22, 2023, Fox discussed the sexual abuse of a fictional two-year-old girl, even offering to bring her to London for a meeting.
He also sent a provocative image of an internet-sourced girl, which, although concerning, was not classified as indecent.
The discussions escalated with more messages about sexual activities with the imaginary child, with Fox suggesting a 'play date' and exchanging details about alleged abuse.
Police investigations tracked Fox through his email, recovery email, and phone number, leading to his arrest.
His seized phone contained nine Category B indecent images of children, some showing girls between nine and 12, with some partly naked, and explicit images of a man with a superimposed intimate part.
His web search history included interests in bestiality.
Fox denied abusing a child, claiming in a statement that he had never done so, although he largely answered questions with silence.
His defense highlighted an addiction to pornography as the root cause, describing the offenses as impulsive and stupid, and noted that he had only one prior conviction and no previous offenses of this nature.
The court sentenced Fox to an 18-month suspended prison term, 200 hours of unpaid work, and 30 days' rehabilitation.
Additionally, he was placed under a five-year sexual harm prevention order, required to register as a sex offender for ten years, and ordered to pay £150 in costs.
The judge emphasized that Fox's offending was linked to his pornography addiction, which he admitted was impulsive.
Fox also instructed a private therapist specializing in sexual issues to help with his problems.
