A man named Stony Stoica, aged 44 and residing on Lordship Lane in Dulwich, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum period of 18 years following his guilty plea to the murder of his ex-wife, Beatrice Cenusa, who was 26.
The incident happened in her home on Lordship Lane, where she was found in the hallway, bleeding in a pool of blood, with a knife still lodged in her chest, by a neighbor.
Despite efforts by emergency services, Beatrice died in hospital a few hours later.
CCTV images showed Stoica walking towards her house around 10:01 pm on July 23, 2021, and fleeing shortly after, nine minutes later.
He presented himself to police less than an hour after the attack, leaving personal belongings such as his mobile phone, wallet, and ID cards at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin described the assault as extremely violent and confirmed Stoica's dangerousness.
The court heard that he had already pleaded guilty, and his sentence requires him to serve a minimum of 18 years before he can be considered for parole.
