CHRISTOPHER TRINNAMAN: DULWICH PAEDOPHILE ON THE RUN AGAIN AFTER RELEASE FROM PRISON IN LONDON

In a disturbing case that highlights ongoing concerns about online child exploitation, Christopher Trinnaman, a convicted paedophile from Dulwich, has once again vanished from authorities' view shortly after being released from prison. The 37-year-old, who has a history of grooming young girls online, was released from HMP Littlehey last Friday and was subsequently driven to Kings Lynn in Norfolk, according to police reports. Authorities believe that after arriving in Norfolk, Trinnaman caught a train, possibly heading towards Merseyside or Nottingham, raising fears that he may be attempting to evade further detection. There are also concerns that he might be using an alias or planning to travel overseas, complicating efforts to locate him. Trinnaman’s criminal record is extensive and deeply troubling. He was initially convicted in May 2010 for engaging in online grooming activities, where he posed as a teenage boy to manipulate girls as young as 13. The Old Bailey heard that he had used the internet to contact and groom young girls, some of whom he encouraged to send explicit images. His criminal activities included attempting to lure one of the girls to a hotel in Hull for sexual purposes. Despite being sentenced to four years in prison, Trinnaman went on the run just a day before his trial was set to commence. He remained missing for nearly a year before being apprehended in March 2011. During a police search of his residence, authorities discovered 28 indecent images of children stored on his computer. His physical description includes a height of 5 feet 9 inches, a medium build, short brown hair—though he may have shaved his head—and he typically wears glasses. Police have issued a public appeal, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact Southwark police at 020 7232 6204. Trinnaman’s case is further complicated by his previous attempts to challenge his convictions. In February 2015, he sought to overturn his four-year sentence, claiming that his prosecution violated his human rights under Article 10 of the Human Rights Convention, which protects freedom of expression. However, the appeal was dismissed by three senior judges at London’s Criminal Appeal Court, who found his arguments to be without merit. The court emphasized that legislation exists to limit such rights when it comes to protecting children from sexual exploitation. Trinnaman’s criminal history also includes a previous attempt to evade justice in 2010, when he fled the country just before his trial. He was later captured in March 2011 after being found in Dulwich, where he had been living. His links to Hull, Brighton, London, and Scotland have been noted by authorities, and they remain concerned about his potential to reoffend or travel abroad. The police continue to investigate his case, and the public is urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that could lead to his arrest. The case underscores the persistent threat posed by individuals like Trinnaman, who exploit the anonymity of the internet to prey on vulnerable children and then attempt to evade justice through flight and concealment.
