LEEDS KILLER STEVEN FRANCIS LIVE COURT SENTENCING FOR MURDERING LOUISA HALL
Steven Francis, 59, was sentenced to a minimum of 28 years in prison for the murder of Louisa Hall, a 43-year-old sex worker.
Francis was found guilty by a jury at Leeds Crown Court of strangling and inflicting more than 100 injuries on Hall at his flat in October 2023.
In addition to the murder conviction, Francis was also found guilty of a separate attack on another sex worker in 2016, where he beat, stripped, raped, and imprisoned the victim.
The court heard that Francis, who was under the influence of cocaine during the murder, had inflicted numerous defensive injuries on Hall, showing she suffered before her death.
The judge stated that although Francis did not have the intent to kill, his actions were brutal and violent.
The judge commended Louisa Hall's family for their dignified conduct throughout the trial.
