NEWCASTLE EMYN SEX OFFENDER STEVEN EVANS SENTENCED TO 19 YEARS FOR RAPE
In August 2017, Steven Alan Evans, a 54-year-old man from Newcastle Emlyn, was sentenced to a total of 19 years in prison after being found guilty of raping two teenage girls. Evans, who resides in Llwyncelyn, Pentrecagal, initially denied the charges. However, a jury at Swansea Crown Court reached majority verdicts of guilty on the charges against him.During the trial, the court was told that Evans told one of his victims that resistance was pointless because he was too strong. Following his conviction, Judge Keith Thomas ordered that Evans serve consecutive sentences of 10 and nine years. Upon his eventual release, Evans will be required to register as a sex offender with the police.
