STEVE DICKER FROM EDENBRIDGE SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC ANIMAL CRUELTY IN SEVENOAKS

In a disturbing case that shocked the local community of Edenbridge, Steven Dicker, born on July 10, 1963, and residing at Wellingtonia Way, Edenbridge, Sevenoaks TN8 5RE, was convicted of heinous animal cruelty. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, involved the theft and brutal assault of a young Jack Russell terrier named Lady.

According to court records, Dicker stole the 17-year-old dog from her owners, who were devastated by the loss. The cruelty inflicted upon Lady was particularly brutal; Dicker battered her with a hammer before abandoning her in a local park. Despite the desperate efforts of her owners to locate her through social media appeals, Lady's body was never recovered, leaving the community and her family heartbroken and searching for answers.

During the legal proceedings, Dicker admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to the elderly dog, a charge he pleaded guilty to. However, he denied allegations that he had broken into a neighbor’s house to steal the dog, a charge that was subsequently proven in court. The trial took place at Sevenoaks Magistrates Court in April 2017, where Dicker was found guilty of the second charge after a thorough examination of the evidence.

As a result of his conviction, Steven Dicker was sentenced to six months in prison. The case drew significant media attention and highlighted ongoing concerns about animal cruelty in the area. Dicker’s actions have been condemned by local residents and animal welfare advocates alike, emphasizing the importance of strict penalties for such heinous acts. The incident remains a stark reminder of the cruelty some animals endure and the need for vigilant community efforts to prevent such tragedies in Edenbridge and beyond.
