STEPHEN MAGEE JAILED IN LINCOLN FOR HIS CHILD INDECENT IMAGE OFFENCES IN BLYTON
In August 2017, Stephen Magee, a 31-year-old man from Paddock Lane East, Blyton, was sentenced to 20 months in prison at Lincoln Crown Court for possessing a large collection of indecent images of children.Magee had amassed what prosecutors described as a 'library' of obscene content by downloading over 2,800 images, including more than 200 videos depicting children being abused.
Police conducted a raid on Magee's home in Blyton, North of Gainsborough, in October of the previous year after receiving information regarding his activities.
During the search, officers seized various electronic devices, such as a laptop, a USB drive, a DVD, and a CD.
The investigation uncovered numerous images, some stored on a memory disc, which Magee used to watch the material on his television.
Prosecutor Richard Veni stated that Magee was arrested at his workplace and admitted to viewing these images for sexual gratification.
He also disclosed that Magee shared links with other users.
Regarding the USB device, Veni explained, “He used that so he could play it into his television without the need to load up his laptop.” Magee pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children.
Alongside his custodial sentence, he was subject to a six-year sexual harm prevention order.
During sentencing, Recorder Simon King remarked, “You took it upon yourself to acquire a library of indecent images of children.
It is clear that you used these primarily for your own sexual gratification.
These involve the horrible degradation of girls as young as 18 months old.
It seems to me that any right-minded person would recognise that someone who has made it their business to collect material of this sort can only be dealt with by a custodial sentence.”
