DAD-OF-THREE ‘TRANSFORMED INTO VIOLENT SEX ATTACKER AFTER SMOKING LEGAL HIGH SPICE’
A DAD-of-three turned into a “violent rapist” after taking a legal high, a court has heard.The jury heard the 41-year-old suddenly became aggressive, giving the 28-year-old blonde a black eye before sexually assaulting her.
Prosecutor Michael Hammett said: “The Spice drug had a bad effect on him.
“His character changed, he became aggressive and he threatened to bury her in the local graveyard.” His victim – who can’t be named for legal reasons – tried to escape but was too afraid of what Jones would do to her.
A jury at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court was told the dad sexually assaulted the woman twice in the bedroom before raping her.
Jones had been drinking a mix of vodka, wine and Tia Maria before he rolled up a cigarette with Spice, also known as Fake Weed.
His victim told police: “He got very aggressive, his voice and facial expressions changed.
“I was saying: “What’s the matter”.
As he was smoking more, he was getting worse.” Spice was previously a legal high until criminalised last month.
Jones, of Treorchy, South Wales, denies rape and two indecent assaults – claiming the woman consented to what took place.
He also denies causing actual bodily harm.
The trial continues.
