A MEOLS man harassed his former girlfriend, her mother and family, and her new partner after an acrimonious split.
Wirral magistrates were told that Stephen James Hughes, aged 24, of Dovepoint Road, Meols, admitted pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to harassment of former girlfriend Kerry Sherwood and her new man Darren Warburton.
He also caused damage to the new partner's car.
Hughes drew alongside Mr Warburton's car in his own vehicle and scratched it along its full length with an object.
The prosecutor, Gill Harris, alleged this behavior.
In his defence, Stuart Rae said passions had been aroused following a split, and Hughes had an axe to grind because contact with his daughter had been curtailed.
Hughes denied using or threatening violence but acknowledged his behavior was 'unwarranted and uninvited'.
The court sentenced Hughes to a year on probation, ordered him to pay £150 costs and £487 in compensation for the car damage, and made him subject to a 12-month restraining order concerning Miss Sherwood and Mr Warburton.
