STEPHEN DICKSON, THE TORY SEXUAL PREDATOR, SENTENCED FOR RAPE AND ABDUCTION IN ABERDEEN

In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Torry and the wider Aberdeen area, Stephen Dickson has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of five years after being convicted of multiple heinous crimes involving teenage girls. The conviction, secured at Aberdeen High Court in August, stems from a series of disturbing incidents where Dickson targeted vulnerable young women, abducted them, and committed acts of sexual violence.

According to court records, Dickson, aged 50, was responsible for abducting three teenage girls, with his crimes spanning over several years. His first known victim was a 17-year-old girl, whom he targeted in October 2007. Over the following years, he continued his predatory behavior, attempting to lure and abduct more young women. The most recent and particularly brutal incident occurred in January of this year, when he abducted a 15-year-old girl in the Torry area of Aberdeen. During this assault, he not only raped her but also robbed her, leaving her physically and emotionally scarred.

The court heard that Dickson’s actions did not stop there. He also attempted to abduct an 18-year-old woman, but was unsuccessful. His pattern of predatory behavior and violence demonstrated a clear threat to the safety of the community, prompting the court to impose a severe sentence. Dickson will remain incarcerated until authorities determine that he no longer poses a danger to the public.

The family of the 15-year-old victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, expressed their anguish and anger following the sentencing. They described Dickson as a “sexual predator” whose actions changed their lives forever. A family statement read: “On January 2, my beautiful daughter’s life, my life, and the lives of our family changed at the hands of this sexual predator.”

The family also paid tribute to the dedicated efforts of law enforcement and support organizations that helped bring Dickson to justice. They specifically praised Detective Inspector Cammy Preston and his team from Grampian Police, as well as staff from Rape and Abuse Support, the procurator fiscal’s office, police doctors, and the entire Torry community for their unwavering support during this difficult time. The statement continued: “If it was not for the dedication, commitment, and unconditional support of those involved, we cannot begin to imagine what life would have been like. We left the UK following this terrible event, but the support still continues, and we are grateful for the love and assistance we continue to receive.”

Authorities emphasized that Dickson’s incarceration is aimed at protecting the public and preventing further harm. His case has served as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and community support in safeguarding vulnerable individuals from predators like him. The community of Torry and Aberdeen at large now hope for healing and justice for all victims affected by his actions.
