SEVENOAKS MAN SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS FOR CHILDHOOD SEX OFFENCES IN THE 1990S
A man named Stefan Farbrother, who was residing in Sevenoaks, Kent during the 1990s, has been sentenced to prison for a series of child sex offences.
He was convicted of multiple crimes including rapes and indecent assaults committed over a period of five years.
Kent Police's Det Sgt Adam Ferguson described Farbrother's abuse as "the most appalling and terrifying campaign of abuse" against a child.
The court sentenced him to 18 years in prison and he was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
The police initially received reports of his abuse in 2018, leading to his arrest in June of that year.
He faced 13 charges, such as seven counts of rape and multiple indecent assaults, with incidents dating back to 1991–1997.
During the investigations, it was revealed that Farbrother used violence and threats, including restraining the victim with handcuffs and holding a knife to their throat.
Det Sgt Ferguson commented that the abuse had a "catastrophic effect" on the victim's adult life, but expressed hope that they can now move forward knowing that Farbrother is serving a lengthy prison sentence.
