STANLEY MOORE SHOCKS SHEPPERTON WITH 21-YEAR SENTENCE FOR DECADES OF CHILD ABUSE

In a harrowing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Shepperton, Stanley Moore, a 67-year-old man, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 21 years after being found guilty of sexually abusing a total of ten children over a span of more than four decades. The crimes, which include a disturbing mix of physical and sexual abuse, took place between 1969 and 2013, with Moore’s victims ranging from young children under the age of 10 to teenagers under 16.

Moore’s heinous acts included raping a girl in her own bed and indecently assaulting nine other minors. Among the allegations, it was revealed that he administered Melatonin, a sleeping aid, to two boys aged 12 and 13, before subjecting them to abuse. The charges also detailed instances of physical abuse alongside sexual misconduct, painting a picture of a man who exploited his victims’ vulnerabilities for his own hedonistic pleasure.

The case came to a head in 2016 when one of Moore’s victims, who was undergoing counselling, reported the abuse to the police. Despite Moore’s vehement denial of all 31 charges—claiming that the allegations were fabricated—he was convicted on every count after a rigorous month-long trial at Blackfriars Crown Court. Dressed in a grey suit with a blue tie, Moore showed no remorse as the verdict was delivered.

Judge Rajev Shetty delivered a stern sentence, emphasizing the gravity of Moore’s crimes. He stated, “You are 67 years old and now stand convicted of 31 counts involving serious sexual assaults over a period of more than 40 years. Several of these victims were young children under the age of 10 who fell victim to your depravity. You violated them for your own hedonistic and debauched pleasure. You had no thought for the victims and still show no remorse. You contested the charges, forcing each victim to relive their dreadful experiences in court. All these victims were vulnerable due to their personal circumstances and age. No other sentence than a substantial one can be justified.”

Prosecutor John Price QC addressed the jury, highlighting the extensive duration of Moore’s offending. “Stanley Moore has been sexually abusing children and young people for more than four decades. It started when he was just 19 years old in 1969 and continued until shortly before his arrest, when he was in his mid-60s. Moore’s response to his accusers was to dismiss their claims as malicious lies, denying all allegations. The prosecution asserts that Moore is the one lying, attempting to evade responsibility for the harm he inflicted on his victims.”

Moore, who resides on Crescent Road in Shepperton, Surrey, was convicted of multiple charges, including 14 counts of indecent assault on a female, three counts of willful ill-treatment of a child, one count of rape, four counts of indecent assault on a male, three counts of sexual activity with a child under 13, five counts of sexual activity with a child under 16, and one count of sexual assault. In addition to his prison sentence, he was ordered to pay costs amounting to £37,697.82, reflecting the serious nature of his crimes and the community’s demand for justice.
