SIRFRAZ AHMED FROM DEWSBURY AND LEEDS SENTENCED FOR ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRLS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Dewsbury and Leeds, Sirfraz Ahmed, a man with a troubling criminal history, was found guilty of heinous sexual offenses committed against three young girls. The victims, all under the age of seven, endured a series of traumatic experiences in the early 2000s, with the abuse taking place across various locations within Leeds.

Leeds Crown Court heard detailed accounts of the abuse, revealing that Ahmed, who was in his teens at the time of the offenses, targeted these vulnerable children in different parts of the city. Another girl was assaulted after Ahmed lured her into a garden shed, a secluded space that facilitated his predatory behavior.

It was only in 2020 that Ahmed was finally apprehended, after one of his victims summoned the courage to report the crimes to the police. During the proceedings, Ahmed, who currently resides on Albion Street in Dewsbury, initially denied any involvement in the offenses. He accused the victims of fabricating their stories, attempting to dismiss the allegations as false reports. However, after a thorough investigation and the presentation of evidence, he eventually pleaded guilty to four counts of indecent assault.

One of the victims delivered a heartfelt statement to the court, recounting how she found the strength to come forward after encountering Ahmed years later. She described how he taunted her about the abuse, which motivated her to seek justice. Sirfraz Ahmed’s criminal record is extensive, including previous convictions for robbery, burglary, theft, and driving offenses. Notably, in 2015, he received a 78-month prison sentence for robbery. Additionally, Ahmed was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a measure aimed at protecting the community from further harm.
