SIMON SHAW FROM CHUTE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRL IN HAMPSHIRE

In April 2017, a tragic case unfolded involving Simon Shaw, a 42-year-old teacher from Chute, Wiltshire, who was convicted of engaging in sexual activities with a vulnerable underage girl. She further explained, 'He took her innocence away from her and he gets one year for that. We are disappointed with the sentence and we are going to try to move on with our lives, but how do you recover from that?' The mother also highlighted the vulnerability of her daughter, who was groomed by Shaw, and expressed her concern about the safety of children in similar situations. 'She was vulnerable. You think your child is going to be safe and she wasn’t, she was groomed. He ruined her life.'

In addition to his jail sentence, Shaw was subjected to a restraining order that prohibits him from contacting the victim and her family, ensuring their safety and preventing any further harm.
