SIMON ELLISON OF NORTHWICH SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES
In June 2008, Simon Ellison, a 41-year-old man from Winnington, Northwich, was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of sex attacks on young girls.
Ellison was convicted at Chester Crown Court on Monday, following a jury verdict in April that found him guilty of one charge of sexual assault and two charges of attempted rape.
The court heard that the sexual assault occurred on February 2, 2007, during a gathering at Ellison’s home.
It was reported that he intoxicated a 16-year-old girl with vodka, then placed his hand down her top and forced her to touch his genitals.
Regarding the attempted rape, it took place on May 13, 2007, at the same address.
On that occasion, Ellison had been watching the Thundersprint event in Northwich town centre, went to a bar where he offered alcohol to a group of girls, and then invited them back to his house.
Ellison received a sentence of four years for each of the attempted rape charges, to run concurrently, along with an additional 12 months for the sexual assault conviction.
As part of his sentence, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
A sex offenders prevention order was also imposed, which prohibits him from working with children in the future.
