SHEFFIELD MAN AVOIDS JAIL DESPITE HORROR COLLECTION OF EXTREME PORN
An individual with a deep-rooted addiction to pornographic material avoided imprisonment despite police discovering 88 extremely violent sex-related films and images stored on two hard drives. The police searched Simon Baker’s residence in Sheffield on June 8, 2020, and recovered two hard drives which subsequently contained 99 images and videos classified as extreme pornography.
During proceedings at Sheffield Crown Court, it was revealed that 88 of these images portrayed sexual acts so violent that they could have inflicted serious harm to the private parts of participants.
Eleven images additionally depicted sexual activities involving animals.
The presiding judge, Roger Thomas, described the evidence as “absolutely vile” and remarked on Baker’s “entrenched problem.” As part of his sentence, Baker was given a two-year community order and ordered to participate in 30 sessions of rehabilitation activities.
His defense lawyer, Ian West, stated that Baker accepts his need for support and had proactively sought assistance after his arrest.
Prosecutor Harry Crowson commented that Baker was upfront during police questioning but was unaware that his viewing of such materials was illegal.
The 45-year-old man faced two charges of possessing extreme pornography and admitted to the charges during the court hearing.
