ROYAL NAVY SAILOR ACCUSED OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT DUBBED A 'CANCER' ON THE SHIP
'Opportunistic' Able Seaman Sian Dowsett, 25, allegedly groped four of her Royal Navy colleagues - two of them men and two women - on HMS Dauntless in 2023 and 2024.She was accused in Bulford Military Court of grabbing male sailors by their crotch, stroking their arms, and making comments such as 'I like my coffee how I like my men, big and strong'.
One man reported her slapping his bottom three times, describing her as 'a bit of a cancer on the ship.' Dowsett also allegedly slapped women sailors' behinds and squeezed their breasts, asking one: 'Do you like that baby girl?' She denied the allegations, claiming they were fabricated due to ship rumours.
The court heard she had seven counts of sexual assault ranging from nipple pinching to genital grabbing.
She described herself as 'heterosexual' but admitted to having 'bisexual tendencies' in police interviews.
The trial is ongoing.
