CLYDEBANK WOMAN ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER ASSAULT AND SEXUAL REMARKS AT POLICE STATION
A woman named Shona McPhail, aged 54, who was intoxicated and involved in a series of aggressive and sexualized incidents at Clydebank police station, has been sentenced to five years on the sex offenders register. The incident occurred after she was found in Red Moss Road, Clydebank, with a man and had been spoken to by officers about an unrelated matter.
She started by shouting, and efforts by police to arrest her included her jumping onto an officer's back, biting her, spitting at another officer, and making a sexual remark towards a third officer, stating, "I'll lick your d**k, you'd like that, wouldn't you?" She also claimed she saw the officer on TikTok.
McPhail pleaded guilty to assaulting an officer by hitting her and digging her nails into her arm, spitting on a second officer, and making the sexual remark as part of a charge under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act.
The court was told she was very drunk at the time, with her legal team noting her remorse and lack of recollection.
The sheriff described her behavior as "quite frankly disgraceful" and sentenced her to 12 months of supervision along with a four-month house curfew.
Due to the sexual nature of her comment, she was also placed on the sex offenders register for five years, reflecting recent legal standards for cases involving multiple punitive aspects.
