NORTHWICH MAN JAILED FOR HARASSING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIM
A man from Northwich named Shaun Yardley has received a prison sentence after engaging in harassment towards his domestic violence victim shortly following his court hearing.
Yardley, a resident of Church Road, first appeared in court on October 23 to face charges related to assaulting a woman in Cuddington on September 12 of that year.
His initial sentence was four weeks of incarceration.
Nonetheless, from that very day, Yardley initiated a pattern of harassment, which involved persistent calls and messages to the victim, as well as personal visits to her residence.
During this period, he also assaulted a police officer in Northwich.
Subsequently, Yardley was brought before magistrates in Warrington on October 28, where he pled guilty to harassment and assaulting a public officer.
The magistrates sentenced him to eight weeks in prison and ordered a three-year restraining order that prevents him from contacting the victim or entering a specific location in Cuddington.
The court deemed the violations serious enough, considering the gravity of the original offense and the repeated breaches.
Additionally, Yardley was fined £100 for the assault on the police officer.
