SHEFFIELD RAPIST JAILED FOR 12 YEARS FOR ABUSING VULNERABLE GIRL
Shangar Ibrahimi was among a group of men who sexually exploited and assaulted a vulnerable girl in Sheffield when she was just 15 years old.He was convicted of one count of rape and received a prison sentence of 12 years.
The court heard that he and the other offenders treated the young woman as "a piece of meat".
The victim, who had earlier experienced abuse in childhood, shared how these events had a "devastating" impact on her life, stating, "This has scarred me for life and the experiences will never leave me." She described suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and emotional instability as a result of what happened.
Judge Michael Slater described her as an "extremely vulnerable and troubled young girl," noting she was referred to social services at a young age and had arrived in Sheffield feeling lonely and rejected by her family.
These vulnerabilities were exploited, and she was allegedly pimped out by Amanda Spencer, who introduced her to the Kurdish men who went on to commit the rape.
A social worker involved with the victim described her as trying to cling to anyone who showed kindness because of her complex childhood issues.
The court sentenced Shangar Ibrahimi to 12 years for his role in this crime, and he showed no emotion when the sentence was read out.
After the proceedings, the judge praised her for her bravery in speaking out and imposed an indefinite restraining order preventing contact between the offender and the victim.
