In a case that has spanned decades and shocked the local community, Serdar Cantemir, a 57-year-old man from Hackney, has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against a young girl in Stamford Hill, North London.According to court records, Cantemir was responsible for a disturbing pattern of abuse that took place over a period of four years, from 1989 to 1993.
During this time, he repeatedly entered the bedroom of a seven-year-old girl with the intent to commit sexual acts.

Despite his denials, a jury found him guilty of four counts of indecent assault on October 24, 2011.
The verdict was delivered after a lengthy trial, and he was subsequently sentenced on Friday, October 7, 2011.
