A man who sent sexual messages to two underage girls via social media has been sentenced to prison.
Sean Whiteman, who started following the girls on Instagram, sent them explicit content including naked videos of himself and pornographic images to provoke them into sexual acts.
The 38-year-old, residing on Bradshaw Avenue in Riddings, also repeatedly asked the early teenage victims to meet him for sexual encounters.
He was detained in July 2024 and faced charges afterward.
On April 3, 2025, during a court session, Whiteman admitted to multiple charges including communicating sexually with a minor, encouraging a child to view sexual acts, and urging a child to partake in such activities.
At Derby Crown Court on May 15, 2026, the judge sentenced him to six years in prison.
Additionally, he was issued a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a ten-year restraining order protecting both girls, and an order requiring him to register with police permanently.
