SEAN ROBERTSON SENTENCED IN AYR FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS AT KILMARNOCK COURT

A young man from Ayr, Sean Robertson, has been handed a significant prison sentence after a jury found him guilty of sexually assaulting a minor. The court proceedings took place at the High Court in Kilmarnock last week, where Robertson, aged 20, faced the consequences of his actions. The case centered around an incident that occurred in February 2022, when Robertson was just 18 years old. During this assault, he targeted a young female victim at a property located in Ayr. Court reports detailed a series of disturbing acts committed by Robertson, including kissing the girl, making inappropriate sexual remarks, and physically pushing her onto a bed. The assault escalated further when Robertson exposed himself, touched her private areas, engaged in sexual acts, and ultimately raped her, resulting in injuries.

Robertson, who resides on Nelson Place in the Braehead area of Ayr, was sentenced to a total of five years and three months in prison. This sentence was backdated to his initial remand date of August 16, reflecting the time he has already spent in custody. The court also ordered Robertson to register as a sex offender indefinitely, imposing strict notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

It is important to note that Robertson was acquitted of allegations involving a second young girl from the same address, which had been brought against him six months prior to the incident in question.
