BRISTOL MAN JAILED FOR RAPE AND LABELED A DANGEROUS SEX PREDATOR
Sean Reuben, aged 49, is identified as a dangerous sexual predator who committed a rape in Clevedon in 2021.
The victim, a woman in her 20s at the time, was attacked at a house in the town.
Reuben was arrested on the same night of the incident after police responded immediately following the rape.
He denied the offense, but a jury unanimously found him guilty of rape in May.
Subsequently, he was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on 13 August to 10 years in prison.
Additionally, the court ordered him to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.
During the sentencing, a statement from the victim was read, revealing the profound impact of the crime on her physical and mental health, including nightmares, flashbacks, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, and difficulties trusting others.
She expressed that her life had been changed forever and described the emotional toll the experience took on her.
The police officer involved in the case described Reuben as a clear danger with no remorse for his actions, acknowledging the victim's courage in coming forward and emphasizing community responsibility in protecting women from such predators.
