Dundee man jailed for breaching court order and assaulting partner

DUNDEE MAN JAILED FOR BREACHING COURT ORDER AND ASSAULTING PARTNER

Sean McLeod, aged 37 from Dundee, was involved in a severe domestic assault targeting his partner, Matthew Erskine.

Court proceedings revealed that McLeod had previously been instructed to avoid contact with Mr.

Erskine following an incident involving violence, during which he bit, kicked, punched him, and hurled a glass candle holder at the back of his head.

Despite these court orders, McLeod blatantly violated them by attending a marriage ceremony with Mr.

Erskine at Dundee Registry Office on July 31, shortly after being released on bail with strict restrictions against contacting his partner.

During the assault, McLeod repeatedly bit Mr.

Erskine, including once on his genitals, and punched him in the face.

He also kicked his partner and inflicted a head injury using a glass object, leading to blood loss and a cut to the scalp.

Emergency services were called by neighbors following the attack, and Mr.

Erskine was admitted to hospital with multiple bite wounds and a head injury.

McLeod was detained overnight and later appeared in court, where he confessed to the assault and breaching bail conditions.

He was sentenced to 10 months in prison.

The sheriff warned McLeod to seek help for alcohol issues, remarking that ongoing criminal behavior could result in serious consequences.

The court described the assault as 'persistent and unprovoked' and emphasized that McLeod had faced significant repercussions for his actions.
