SCOTT GALL FROM CARNOUSTIE CONVICTED OF MULTIPLE SEXUAL AND VIOLENT CRIMES IN DUNDEE

Scott Gall, a 52-year-old man from Carnoustie, has been found guilty of a series of serious criminal offenses during a trial held at Dundee High Court. The court's verdict detailed a disturbing pattern of abuse and violence spanning several years, highlighting the severity and brutality of Gall's actions.

According to the court, Gall engaged in a prolonged campaign of sexual abuse against a woman over a period of nine years. The evidence presented revealed that he coerced her into sexual acts, some of which involved other men. Disturbingly, Gall encouraged these men to perform sexual acts on her while she was unconscious, demonstrating a blatant disregard for her consent and well-being. The charges against him include multiple counts of rape, coercion, and the recording of some of these acts, which further compounded the gravity of his crimes.

In addition to the sexual offenses, Gall was convicted of attempting to murder a woman by setting fire to her residence in Carnoustie on November 26, 2019. The court heard that Gall poured petrol inside the house and ignited it, putting her life at significant risk. This act of arson was not only a violent attack but also a calculated effort to cause harm and destruction.

Further charges relate to historic assaults on another woman, which took place between 2002 and 2004. These incidents involved physical violence, choking, and threats, illustrating a pattern of aggressive and threatening behavior over an extended period. Gall's criminal record includes nine convictions dating back to 2001, although he had not previously served time in prison. Since his remand on November 27, 2019, Gall has been held in custody as he awaits sentencing.

He has been registered on the Sex Offenders Register, reflecting the nature of his crimes and the ongoing concern for public safety. The sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place at Edinburgh High Court on February 28, where a social work report will be considered before final judgment is passed.
