RAPIST WHO USED FAKE NAMES TO TARGET TEEN GIRLS JAILED
An Epsom man who raped and sexually assaulted three teenage girls while using fake names to hide his identity has been jailed.Scott Brand, aged 22, employed false identities such as “Oskar” and “Damon” to approach victims aged 16 and 17 during 2021 and 2022.
During an attack at his residence, one girl was choked with a metal object, and other victims described ongoing sexual assaults that left them emotionally scarred throughout their adolescence.
The first victim, aged 17, promptly informed a friend about the assault and later reported the incident to police.
She expressed feelings of sadness, anger, and fear, describing being constantly on alert both in public and in response to the trauma she was trying to manage.
A second 17-year-old came forward shortly after, recounting violent episodes that included choking, hitting, and assaults occurring while she was unconscious or asleep.
She remarked that her understanding of healthy relationships has been significantly affected by her experiences.
Both victims stated that Brand introduced himself as “Oskar” during their encounters.
Further police interviews uncovered additional allegations, such as oral rape and assaults at an old golf course.
A third girl, aged 16 at the time, later disclosed that Brand used the name “Damon” and had forcibly engaged in sexual activity with her at her home after pressuring her during their relationship.
She reflected that her initial trust being broken by someone she felt safe with at age 15 has profoundly impacted her view of relationships and her self-perception.
According to Crown Prosecution Service guidance, Brand faced charges on 11 counts.
He was convicted after two trials one in June 2025 and a retrial in December 2025 on charges including rape, sexual assault by penetration, and multiple sexual assaults.
On March 16, he received a prison sentence of five years and six months, along with a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was acquitted of one count of rape and one count of sexual assault.
One victim read her victim impact statement in court, stating that no woman should endure such experiences or live in fear of assault by future partners, emphasising the importance of consent.
