SCOTT BEASLEY FROM EVESHAM JAILED FOR INDECENT EXPOSURE IN WORCESTERSHIRE AND WARWICKSHIRE
In a case that has shocked the local community, Scott Beasley, a 30-year-old resident of Willow Road in Evesham, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of indecent exposure and outraging public decency. The incidents, which spanned several years and involved multiple victims, primarily took place in and around Evesham, Worcestershire, with additional offenses reported in Ledbury and Warwickshire.According to court proceedings, Beasley was observed by three 14-year-old schoolgirls as they walked past his residence. The girls, dressed in their school uniforms, noticed Beasley attempting to attract their attention by coughing. When they looked towards his house, they saw him standing naked in a bedroom window, an act that caused them considerable distress and alarm. Prosecutor Abigail Nixon detailed that this exposure was not an isolated event, as a neighbor also came forward to report witnessing Beasley engaging in a sexual act while naked at his home. Furthermore, a third complainant revealed that she had seen Beasley perform two sexual acts within the span of a week, and her seven-year-old daughter had also seen his inappropriate behavior.
Beasley, who pleaded guilty to four counts of exposure and outraging public decency, has a history of similar misconduct. In 2002, he exposed himself to a woman while sitting in a car in Ledbury. Later, in 2005, he was involved in another disturbing incident in Warwickshire, where he sounded his horn at a 17-year-old girl and then exposed himself before following her in a vehicle. These repeated offenses highlight a troubling pattern of behavior that authorities have described as difficult to control.
During the sentencing, Recorder Anthony Lowe acknowledged that Beasley appeared unable to resist the urge to commit these upsetting acts, despite recognizing that he had a problem. As part of his sentence, Beasley was issued a sex offenders’ prevention order, which explicitly prohibits him from having unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16. Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years. His defense attorney, Barry Newton, stated that Beasley had sought private psychotherapy treatment, but emphasized that he had not participated in a long-term sex offender therapy program that could potentially alter his behavior. Newton also pointed out that Beasley’s actions, while reprehensible, had not escalated to physical contact with any of his victims, suggesting a pattern of exposure rather than physical assault.
The case has raised concerns among residents of Evesham and neighboring areas, prompting calls for increased vigilance and preventative measures to protect vulnerable members of the community from similar incidents in the future.
