CLAYTON-LE-MOORS MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ABUSE

A man who sexually assaulted a woman and told her she looked "disgusting" when blood dripped down her head from a wound he inflicted has been sentenced to more than seven years in jail.

Saul Rajski, 49, was verbally abusive to the woman and also assaulted her from December 2023 onwards.

The case was brought to Preston Crown Court earlier this month, where Judge Ian Unsworth adjourned sentencing to consider the proper length of sentence.

A further hearing was also postponed.

Prosecutor Julian Goode stated that the victim was left with a black eye on one occasion.

On November 24 last year, police received a report that Rajski had hit the victim.

When police arrived, Rajski had fled the scene but was later stopped in his vehicle and arrested.

Officers observed swelling around the victim's eye, which she said was caused by Rajski hitting her two days earlier.

She also reported that he had hit her on another occasion and told her to "shut up." The victim disclosed that Rajski would often grab her breasts to cause bruising and, on one occasion, sexually assaulted her, telling her to "shut up and enjoy it." He also punched her in the head, causing bleeding, and remarked that she looked "disgusting" and should wash it.

Rajski denied causing the injury.

He pleaded guilty to sexual assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and battery.

He was sentenced to seven years and two months in prison, ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life, and subjected to an indefinite restraining order.

The victim provided an impact statement describing the emotional toll of the abuse, including sleepless nights, flashbacks, and strained relationships.

Lancashire Police's DC Claire Scott stated that Rajski’s behavior was completely unacceptable and that society would not tolerate such conduct, expressing hope that the victim can begin to recover now that Rajski has been held accountable.
