SAM HEWINGS PERVERT FROM CAM CAUGHT IN GLOUCESTER TRYING TO KIDNAP 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities, Sam Hewings, a 24-year-old man from Hadley Road, Cam, was convicted of attempting to abduct a 13-year-old girl in Gloucester. The incident unfolded in February 2017, revealing a sinister pattern of predatory behavior and disturbing online conversations.According to court reports, Hewings had engaged in online chats with the young girl, persuading her to leave her home in Oxfordshire and take a taxi to meet him in Gloucester. The girl, who was still in her school uniform, was vulnerable and clearly impressionable, making the situation even more alarming. Hewings’s plan was to lure her into an unknown location, with intentions that the court described as sexually motivated.
However, the plot was foiled by a vigilant taxi driver, Satbir Singh, aged 39, who was responsible for transporting the girl from her home. Upon arriving at Gloucester Railway Station, Singh grew increasingly concerned about the girl’s safety. She appeared to be in distress and was visibly in her school uniform, which heightened the driver’s suspicions. Recognizing the potential danger, Singh promptly contacted the police, alerting them to the situation.
Police arrived at the scene and took immediate action. Hewings, who was supposed to meet the girl at the station, failed to show up on time. CCTV footage later captured him walking in the vicinity of Gloucester Railway Station, raising further suspicion. It was believed that Hewings had become hesitant or frightened upon noticing a police vehicle parked nearby, which may have caused him to delay his plans.
Later that day, law enforcement officers apprehended Hewings. A search of his belongings revealed a disturbing collection of items, including two knives, a roll of duct tape, and a spectacles case filled with co-codamol tablets. These items indicated a clear intent to carry out a violent and unlawful act involving the young girl.
Hewings admitted to attempting to abduct the girl on February 20, 2017. Additionally, he confessed to possessing and distributing child pornography in November of the previous year and again in February. His actions and online communications revealed a pattern of disturbing and illegal behavior, which the court described as deeply troubling.
During the sentencing hearing, Judge Michael Cullum sentenced Hewings to a total of five years in prison. The judge also ordered him to be placed on the sex offender register for life and imposed a lifelong sexual harm prevention order. The judge emphasized the severity of Hewings’s actions and the threat he posed to society.
In his remarks, Judge Cullum highlighted the disturbing nature of Hewings’s online activity, which included graphic discussions with other paedophiles about future acts of sexual violence against children. The court was told that Hewings had fantasized about kidnapping and harming children, even discussing killing a child and freezing the body afterward. The judge noted that Hewings had expressed a desire to use co-codamol to sedate potential victims, revealing a calculated and malicious intent.
Addressing Hewings directly, the judge stated that he presented a “very worrying” problem for the court. He pointed out that the chat logs from September to November of the previous year showed clear paedophile tendencies and desires. The court was told that Hewings had discussed raping a child in the future and claimed to have done so in the past. The judge expressed concern that Hewings’s actions were part of a broader pattern of predatory behavior, and he questioned what Hewings’s true intentions were regarding the girl he attempted to abduct. The court was left with the impression that Hewings’s plans could have been far more sinister had circumstances allowed him to proceed.
