OFFENDER JAILED FOR STALKING IN MERSTHAM AFTER BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER
A 34-year-old man named Sam Garrett has been sentenced after pleading guilty to engaging in stalking behavior towards a woman in Merstham.The court established that Garrett stalked the victim for ten months, from January to October 2017, and also sent her malicious or offensive messages.
During this period, he was subject to a restraining order issued by Worthing Magistrates' Court on March 20, 2017, for harassment, as well as a suspended sentence for stalking issued on September 1, 2016.
Garrett was sentenced by Recorder Robert Fraser to 21 months in prison at Guildford Crown Court on March 1 and ordered to pay a £140 victim surcharge.

Garrett, who resides on Albert Road in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, had already pleaded guilty to four charges on February 9 at Staines Magistrates' Court.
