SAJAD JAMALVATAN, CHELSEA PERVERT, SENTENCED FOR MULTIPLE RAPE OFFENSES
In May 2021, a disturbing case involving a man from Chelsea culminated in a conviction that has sent shockwaves through the local community. Sajad Jamalvatan, aged 25 and residing on Mulberry Close, Chelsea, was found guilty of committing multiple heinous sexual assaults against two female sex workers over a period spanning from August to October 2019.Following a comprehensive investigation, Jamalvatan was convicted on five counts of rape during a 14-day trial held at Isleworth Crown Court. The court sentenced him on May 14, 2021, to a substantial term of 19 years in prison, with an additional five years on license, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
Law enforcement officials employed a range of investigative techniques to build their case. They retrieved and analyzed data from Jamalvatan’s mobile phone, which provided crucial evidence of his communications with potential victims. Additionally, authorities meticulously examined hours of CCTV footage, which captured his movements and interactions.
The investigation revealed that Jamalvatan had been actively using escort websites to contact women willing to engage in transactional sex. He would arrange meetings at his flat in Chelsea, where the assaults took place. Once the women arrived, Jamalvatan would feign transferring money to them via his banking application, creating an illusion of payment. However, he had no real intention of compensating the victims, which left them vulnerable and often caught off guard.
As the victims attempted to leave or defend themselves, Jamalvatan would become increasingly aggressive. He would overpower them, covering their mouths with his hands to prevent screams and pinning them down to maintain control. His violent behavior escalated on at least one occasion, during which he subjected a woman to an attack that lasted over an hour. Despite his actions, Jamalvatan maintained a disturbing stance, insisting that he was ‘not a bad person’ amidst the allegations and conviction.
This case highlights the dangers faced by sex workers and underscores the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to combat such predatory behavior. The community in Chelsea and beyond is urged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to authorities to prevent further harm.
