FIFE THUG JAILED FOR BARGING INTO EX’S HOME AND SMASHING HER HEAD OFF WALL
Ryan Ure was sentenced to 22 months in prison and given a further 10-year non-harassment order after a campaign of domestic abuse and abusive behaviour.Ure, 34, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court via videolink from Perth Prison.
The court heard that Ure, who has been in solitary confinement and other prisoners report that he's not popular among inmates, had been involved in multiple violent incidents.
Prosecutor Sarah Smith stated that Ure’s ex-partner was in her flat in Anstruther when he unexpectedly knocked on her door around 8 pm on January 18, this year.
Despite her requests for him to leave, he barged past her and entered the residence.
He began grabbing household items and threatening her, saying: 'Do you really want to know what I can do?' Then, he smashed her phone and smashed her head against a wall, making her feel sick and dizzy.
Ure told her: 'You don’t know how much I hate you, I’ll get you done in, I’m putting money on your head.' She fled and was helped by a passerby, police found her distressed with a lump on her head.
Two weeks later, on February 1, Ure appeared again, pleading with her and then threatening to kill himself with a shard of glass.
He pushed past her and left after threatening her, then tried to run from police afterward.
He was arrested and taken to Victoria Hospital, where he was assessed as needing a moonboot for a foot injury.
While waiting there, he shouted, swore, threatened to urinate on the floor, and attempted to pull a monitor off the wall.
The court noted that Ure had been released early from his previous 30-month sentence for similar domestic offences against the same woman but had been on remand since February.
His solicitor highlighted his learning difficulties, ADHD, and facial palsy, describing him as generally a lonely and chaotic figure who seeks refuge but is going about it wrong.
Ure's solicitor stated that Ure’s relationship had now ended.
Sheriff Krista Johnston jailed him for 22 months and imposed a decade-long non-harassment order.
After sentencing, Ure was seen on video trying to calculate his time behind bars and saluted the court.
In 2022, he had previously been jailed for punching his grandmother while intoxicated.
