A monster who raped a woman and violently assaulted her has been jailed for years.
Ryan Mitchell, 33, from Carn Gwavas Terrace in Newlyn, appeared before Truro Crown Court on December 11 for sentencing in connection with three charges of raping a woman in the west Cornwall area more than five years ago.
He was also sentenced in relation to a fourth charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent against a woman in 2022.
Mitchell, who had pleaded not guilty to all four charges, was found guilty of all counts on November 14.
His Honour Judge Simon Carr sentenced Mitchell to a total of 17 years, including 12 years each for the three counts of rape, to be served concurrently, with an additional five years added consecutively for the GBH count.
Mitchell will be on the sex offenders register for life, and a restraining order was imposed until further notice.
