GRETTON PAEDOPHILE GIVEN EXTENDED JAIL TERM AFTER ADMITTING SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST BOYS
Ryan Lockwood, aged 23, appeared at Leicester Crown Court earlier this month to receive his sentence for serious crimes involving children.Lockwood, from Hunts Field Drive in Gretton, pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor, three counts of causing a child to participate in sexual acts, one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, three counts of producing indecent images of a child, and two counts of photographing a child in an indecent manner during the years 2024 and 2025.
Five other charges—denying causing a child to engage in sexual activity, causing a child to observe a sexual act, and engaging in sexual communication with a child—were kept on file.
This indicates the court accepted his admissions to the more serious allegations, and it was deemed not in the public interest to pursue a trial on the remaining counts.
These can be prosecuted later with the judge’s approval.
He was sentenced to nine years in prison, with the understanding that he must serve two-thirds of this period before being eligible to seek parole.
A parole board will assess whether he no longer poses a danger to society before any release.
In addition, Lockwood received a four-year extension of supervision, which he will serve under licence in the community.
Such extended sentences are granted when a judge considers an offender to be 'dangerous' and potentially a significant threat to public safety.
During this period, he will be supervised by probation authorities.
At the time of his arrest, Lockwood was employed at Gretton House, a residence for adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
There is no indication that his victims were current residents or connected to the facility.
A spokesperson for Gretton House stated: “We confirmed that all appropriate safeguarding measures and recruitment checks, including enhanced DBS checks, were conducted, and authorities were notified based on available information.
No concerns were raised in 2024.
“We believe no individuals supported by our services were harmed, and we fully cooperated with authorities.
Protecting the health and safety of those we support remains our highest priority.” Lockwood has been banned from working with vulnerable individuals in the future.
He was also issued an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, required to register as a sex offender, and all electronic devices in his possession were seized.
Leicestershire Police said they could not release a photograph of Lockwood taken during custody.
