GRETTON PUB LICENSEE GETS SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR FOOT SEX ASSAULT
A man named Mitchell Elliott, aged 39, who was the licensee of the Bugatti pub in Gretton near Winchcombe, was involved in a sexual offence where he was found to be having sex with a woman’s foot after she woke to find him doing so.
The incident took place on August 29 last year when the woman, who had been socialising at the pub and was invited to stay overnight by Elliott’s partner, woke up at around 5 am to find Elliott entering the room.
According to the court proceedings, Elliott was significantly under the influence of alcohol and made inappropriate advances towards her, including exposing himself and holding her foot against his body.
Although he initially denied the allegations, he pleaded guilty to sexual assault last month.
The judge, Jamie Tabor QC, sentenced Elliott to eight months in jail, suspended for two years, with restrictions including supervision, attending a domestic abuse programme, 200 hours of unpaid work, and a £1,000 fine.
It was noted that since the incident, Elliott sold the pub at a loss of £70,000 after the offence became publicly known in the area.
