STALKING MEMBER RYAN BURTON GETS SUSPENDED JAIL FOR HARASSMENT AND CAR DAMAGE
Ryan Burton received a sentence of 18 months in prison, which was suspended for two years.Additionally, he was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid community work and was subject to a curfew from 9pm to 6am for a duration of three months.
The offences included vandalism on April 2, 2022, when he damaged a victim’s vehicle by smashing its windows, rendering it undriveable.
He also made phone calls to the victim, during which he played sounds sourced from horror films.
Burton was not given a separate penalty for the damage caused to the vehicle.
Furthermore, he was involved in encouraging others to continue harassing the victim by making threatening phone calls pretending to be 'Hannah’s brother' and playing intimidating noises.
This conduct was part of a wider stalking and harassment scheme led by Charles Vance, who recruited Burton and others to carry out ongoing threats and intimidation against his former partner.
