A man has been jailed for life for the murder of his wife at their south Cumbria home.
Sara Trelore, 44, was found with serious stab wounds at the property in North Row, Barrow, in November 2010, and died at the scene.
Her husband, Russell Trelore, had denied murder, but changed his plea to guilty mid-way through the trial at Preston Crown Court.
The 49-year-old was given a minimum term of 16 years 190 days.
Police were called to their home on 22 November in response to a call from a concerned neighbour who overheard a domestic disturbance.
Mrs Trelore had suffered 19 stab wounds.
Trelore was taken to hospital with serious abdominal stab wound injuries and later arrested.
Det Ch Insp Paul Duhig, who led the investigation, said: "Trelore murdered his wife in a violent, unprovoked attack in their home, leaving her family absolutely devastated.
"This has been an incredibly difficult time for the family and our thoughts and sympathies remain with them.
"I hope that hearing the result today and knowing that this dangerous man will spend the next 17 years behind bars will help them as they begin to look to the future."
