RUSSELL DUFFY JAILED IN RYE FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES

A Roman Catholic priest has been sentenced to nearly seven years in prison after admitting to possessing over 3,000 indecent images of children.

Paul Clarke, 71, from East Sussex, pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to child abuse images obtained via the internet.

His crimes were discovered following a police raid at his church address in Rye in 2014.

Clarke will be subject to a lifelong registration on the sex offenders register and is also under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
