ROY HOWE FROM INVERNESS CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN SHOCKING SCANDAL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Inverness, 36-year-old Roy Howe was found to be in possession of highly disturbing and illegal images depicting child abuse. The police conducted a search of Howe’s residence as part of ongoing monitoring due to his previous sexual offenses, which included strict conditions requiring regular checks.During the search, law enforcement officers uncovered a collection of graphic images stored on Howe’s mobile phones and a USB device. These devices contained a total of 239 indecent images, a significant number of which were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of child exploitation material. Among these, one particularly heinous image depicted the abuse of a child believed to be under the age of two. The remaining images fell into Category B and C classifications, but all were deemed highly illegal and deeply disturbing.
Roy Howe appeared before Inverness Sheriff Court to face charges related to the possession of these indecent images. He admitted to a single charge of taking, allowing to be taken, or making indecent images of children, with the alleged offenses spanning from January 16, 2019, to September 28, 2023. The court was informed that Howe was currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation, a step often taken to assess mental health in cases involving such serious allegations. It was also noted that Howe was employed full-time within the forestry industry, a detail that underscores the complexity of his profile.
In light of the circumstances, the court granted Howe bail, allowing him to remain free pending sentencing. A social work report is to be prepared, which will influence the final judgment. The devices containing the illegal images are to be confiscated and forfeited, ensuring they cannot be used again. The next court hearing is scheduled for October, where further legal proceedings and sentencing are expected to take place, bringing some measure of closure to this troubling case.
