ROSS BENSON EXPOSED IN LONDON FOR CHILD ABUSE AND MISCONDUCT

A Metropolitan Police officer named Ross Benson has been permanently removed from his position following a serious misconduct investigation that uncovered disturbing allegations of child abuse. The misconduct panel determined that Benson had assaulted a 12-year-old girl by repeatedly spanking her on her bare bottom on multiple occasions.

The incidents in question reportedly took place between April and August of 2018. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the girl involved was known to Benson personally, and that the nature of the assault included a sexual element, despite occurring when Benson was off duty. This revelation has added a grave dimension to the case, highlighting the breach of trust and abuse of authority involved.

Following the disciplinary hearing, Ross Benson was dismissed from the police force without any notice period. Additionally, he was placed on the barred list maintained by the College of Policing, effectively preventing him from working in law enforcement in the future. Benson was assigned to the North West Basic Command Unit in London at the time of the misconduct.

The case took a further turn when Bedfordshire Police arrested Benson in November 2020 on suspicion of sexual assault. However, after a thorough investigation, authorities announced in September 2021 that no further action would be taken against him. Despite this, the Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards initiated their own misconduct inquiry, which concluded on the Friday prior to the report, finding that Benson had violated the standards of professional behavior at a level classified as gross misconduct.

Detective Superintendent Will Lexton-Jones expressed his concern and support for the victim, stating, "My thoughts are first and foremost with the victim who displayed courage in reporting this." He further emphasized the severity of Benson’s actions, affirming that his behavior was utterly unacceptable and warranted immediate dismissal. The decision to remove Benson from the force was supported by the police leadership, underscoring the force’s commitment to maintaining integrity and protecting the community from such egregious misconduct.
