CRAIGAVON MAN REMANDED IN CUSTODY OVER KIDNAPPING AND RAPE CHARGES
A man identified as Rory Joseph Garvey, hailing from Woodgrove in Craigavon, Co Armagh, has been remanded in custody after being formally charged with multiple serious offenses related to sexual crimes and kidnapping.According to court reports, Garvey, aged 23, was charged with kidnapping a woman on October 20 of the previous year and subsequently raping her.
In addition, he faces allegations of raping another woman between June 1 and June 30 of the same year, as well as unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under 14 during the period between July 1 and December 25 of the previous year.
A police officer testified in court that there was sufficient evidence to connect Garvey to these charges.
The magistrate overseeing the case, Mr.
Kennedy, ordered Garvey to be remanded in custody and scheduled his reappearance via video link for June 21.
The case remains active, and further proceedings are anticipated.
