HERTFORDSHIRE PAEDOPHILE WHO TURNED HIMSELF IN JAILED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE
A man with a history of child sexual abuse entered a police station to confess his crimes and has now been sentenced to prison.Robin Kent, from Chilworth Gate in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting a girl when she was around six or seven years old during the 1970s, as well as during the 1990s.
He told an officer at Cheshunt police station in July 2016 that feelings of guilt prompted him to surrender himself.
Kent, who is 64 years old, received a sentence of two years and five months in prison at St Albans Crown Court.
It was revealed that Kent, a former banker, also admitted to abusing several other girls starting from the 1960s.
The survivor described feeling terrified when Kent stayed at her home during her childhood and inappropriate contact occurred.
She also recounted an incident from her early twenties.
Kent showed remorse for his actions and was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years and comply with a sexual harm prevention order for five years.
