WIVENHOE MAN SPARED JAIL AFTER ADMITTING MAKING INDECENT PICTURES OF CHILDREN
A man from Wivenhoe has been spared jail after he admitted making indecent pictures of children.Robert Squirrell appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday.
In an earlier hearing on February 23, he admitted three counts of making indecent photographs of a child between June 2015 and December 2024.
The 60-year-old defendant was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, suspended for two years.
Under the court order, Squirrell, of Colchester Road, will have to complete 20 rehabilitation activity days under the probation service, and has been made subject to a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) for the next five years.
He is prohibited from owning electronic devices with internet access, unless registered with police, is not allowed to manipulate his search and messaging history, and will have to comply with police inspections.
Squirrell was also ordered to register with the police for the next 10 years and had his laptop seized.
