SHOCKING CRIME: ROBERT SMITH OF WILLENHALL RAPES 14-YEAR-OLD SCHOOLGIRL IN HORRIFIC NIGHTMARE

In August 2019, a disturbing case of sexual assault unfolded in Willenhall, involving a man named Robert James Smith, aged 27, who subjected a young girl to a night of unimaginable horror. The incident took place in the girl’s home, where she had just celebrated her 14th birthday, and the details of the case have left the community shaken to its core.

According to court proceedings, Smith entered the girl’s bedroom while she was sleeping alongside her five-year-old sister. Without warning, he performed oral sex on the younger child, who was unaware of the assault until she awoke to find Smith on her. The terrified young girl immediately demanded that Smith leave her room, but he then turned his attention to the 14-year-old victim.

Using considerable force, Smith raped the teenage girl. The assault lasted several minutes before he left the scene. However, he returned approximately an hour later and committed a second rape, inflicting further trauma on the young victim. During the ordeal, Smith threatened the girl, telling her that he would return the next day to repeat the abuse and even offered to pay her if she kept quiet about what had happened.

Following the attack, Smith, who was employed at a local scrapyard, realized that the girl was about to disclose the abuse. Fearing repercussions, he went on the run for ten days before finally surrendering himself to Wolverhampton police station. During his police interview, Smith confessed to the heinous acts, revealing the extent of his depravity.

Smith’s actions led to his being charged with multiple serious offences, including two counts of child rape and sexual activity with a child. At Wolverhampton Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to these charges, which resulted in a sentence of 12 years in prison. However, due to his early guilty plea, his sentence was reduced to ten years and eight months.

In addition to his imprisonment, the court imposed a ten-year restraining order, explicitly prohibiting Smith from contacting or approaching the victim or her family. The judge also announced that an indefinite sexual harm prevention order would be enforced, and Smith would be required to register as a sex offender for life, underscoring the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
