In court, Marek Sowinski, who was identified as the individual responsible for possessing these indecent images, admitted to the charges.
Sowinski, a 58-year-old former police officer from Stoke-on-Trent, faced the consequences of his actions in a legal proceeding.
His sentence included a prison term of one year, which was subsequently suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offense within that period.
Furthermore, Sowinski was mandated to participate in a sex offender treatment programme, aimed at addressing underlying issues and preventing future offenses.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of five years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and community safety.
