WALLINGTON SCHOOL TRUST WORKER CONVICTED OF ONLINE SEXUAL OFFENCES
Parents at schools under the Cirrus Primary Academy Trust have been informed that Robert Lock, a member of the Central Trust Site Team responsible for estate management, has been convicted of sexual offences involving inappropriate online communication.According to the Trust’s letter dated 4 September 2025, Mr.
Lock was arrested by the Metropolitan Police shortly before pupils returned to school after the summer break.
He was subsequently charged with two offences of inappropriate online sexual communication.
This week, Lock pleaded guilty to the charges.
He has now been convicted and remanded in custody, awaiting sentencing.
In her message to parents, Sharon Roberts, CEO of Cirrus Primary Academy Trust, emphasised that police have been clear there is no evidence linking Lock’s offences to his employment within the Trust.
She acknowledged the news would be “very distressing” and assured parents that the Trust follows the highest levels of safeguarding and staff vetting.
“This news has come as a complete shock to me and my colleagues,” Roberts wrote.
“The police have been clear with me that there is no evidence to suggest any connection between the offences and Mr Lock’s employment with the Trust.” The Trust has asked police for continued support to ensure that staff and parents receive all necessary information.
An FAQ sheet has also been circulated to help address parents’ concerns.
Lock’s conviction has inevitably raised serious concerns among parents about safeguarding and child safety, although authorities have reiterated that the offences were unrelated to his role at the Trust.
Sentencing is expected in the coming weeks.
