ROBERT BULLOCK FROM KINGS HILL SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IN MAIDSTONE

In January 2021, Robert Bullock, a man residing in Kings Hill, was convicted of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of two young children. The case, which garnered significant attention, revealed the disturbing extent of his actions and the impact on his victims.

According to court reports, Bullock, aged 33, engaged in online forums where he boasted about his abuse, openly bragging about the harm he inflicted on the children. The victims, who were very young, were forced to relive their traumatic experiences during the trial, giving evidence against him despite his denial of the charges. The court heard that the abuse was sustained over a period, involving sickening and depraved acts that left lasting scars.

Bullock’s residence on Hawthorn Close in Kings Hill became the focus of a police investigation after authorities uncovered illegal material on his computer. The police raid was initiated when officers found child sex images and videos, some depicting children as young as three years old. Forensic analysis of the seized digital devices revealed chat logs in which Bullock openly boasted about his abuse, further implicating him in the crimes.

During the trial at Maidstone Crown Court, Bullock appeared impassive in the dock, while one of his brave victims watched the proceedings from just a few feet away. A second victim observed the court session via CCTV from another room, illustrating the widespread impact of his actions.

The mother of one of the victims expressed her anguish through a victim impact statement, which was read aloud by the prosecutor. She stated, “I was disgusted by what I saw. He (Bullock) had lied and manipulated. He has destroyed my child and destroyed my family. I don’t understand how he could do this and think he could get away with it. He gets to walk away once he has finished his sentence and we are left picking up the pieces.”

Judge Tony Baumgartner sentenced Bullock to a total of nine years and four months in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to sign the Sex Offender’s Register for life, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to society. During his time in custody, Bullock attempted to claim he contracted Covid-19 while on remand, complaining about being confined for 23-and-a-half hours a day over the eight months he spent awaiting trial. However, the jury rejected his claims, and the court found the evidence of his guilt to be clear and compelling.
