MAN JAILED FOR NON-RECENT SEXUAL ABUSE OF A CHILD
A man from Bristol who sexually assaulted a young girl over two decades ago has been sentenced to eight years in prison.Ricky Morgan, residing on New Cheltenham Road in Kingswood, committed repeated acts of sexual abuse against the girl during the early 2000s.
He pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared in court earlier this year.
The 61-year-old acknowledged that he had sexually assaulted the girl multiple times while she was asleep over several years.
The police were informed about the abuse two decades after the incidents, leading to an investigation that resulted in charges against Morgan.
In March, he appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court where he admitted to three counts of indecent assault of a girl and three counts of sexual assault of a girl under 13 through touching.
The judge sentenced Morgan to eight years behind bars, imposed an indefinite restraining order to safeguard the victim, issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and ordered him to be listed on the sex offenders’ register with notification requirements.
